The Fall Line is a sudden drop from the Piedmont to the Coastal Plain region and is the natural boundary between the two regions. It is believed that this was the coast of Georgia when Earth was undergoing its more hostile times. In fact, shark teeth have been found scattered throughout the area, providing more proof to this claim. Cuts from the Piedmont region's river create waterfall along this line that made it difficult for explorers to navigate. Many new and large cities like Augusta began to form along the Fall Line.
