The Piedmont is a region of Georgia between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Upper Coastal Plains. Cities that lie along the boundary, or fall line, include Macon, Augusta, and Columbus. The Blue Ridge Mountains line the top of the Piedmont. Most of the Piedmont is made up of low hills and narrow valleys, and various trees grown here, including White Oak, North Red Oak, and many hickories. It is also the most populous region of Georgia, containing the capital, Atlanta, and many other large cities.
